Śrī Raghunātha Dāsa Gosvāmī has named his text Vilāpa-kusumāñjali and compared it to a handful of flowers. Traditionally, commentaries have a name, but out of his innate humility, the author has not given a specific name to his commentary. So in this volume, Hari Pārṣada Dāsa has compared the Commentary to «words inscribed upon a petal» of those flowers, and thus the name of the commentary became: Patrāṅkitā.

This Patrāṅkitā Commentary on Vilāpa-kusumāñjali forms part of the Kṛṣṇa in Vṛndāvana Series, constituting Volume 8. It is planned that this Commentary, a unique offering to the treasure house of Gauḍīya literature, will span 8 volumes in total and extend over 5,000 pages.
